RESEARCH TEACHING BIO PERSONAL Curriculum Vitae
My general area of interest is in the statistical signal processing with applications to communications, radar, and sonar systems. Some particular problems of current interest are
· signal processing for wireless communications;
· wireless sensor and ad hoc networks;
· multi-user MIMO networks;
· space-time adaptive processing for GMTI applications.

Biao Chen received his B.S. and M.A. in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University in 1992 and 1994. After a short stint with AT&T (China) Inc. in 1995, he went to the University of Connecticut where he obtained his Master in Statistics and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, in 1998 and 1999 respectively. He spent a year as a Post-Doc research associate at Cornell University. He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of Syracuse University in the Fall of 2000 and has been a professor since 2011.
Married to Tianyun with three boys (Aaron, David and Nathan)
